Syrian Refugee Al Ziab Family
Synopsis:
The Al Ziabs are Syrian refugees who arrived in Winnipeg with little understanding of Canadian culture or languages. Omar, frustrated by differences forcing him to the periphery at school and with peers, finds compassion and camaraderie in the sledge hockey community. It’s a story about the power of sport to dissolve prejudices and unite people from disparate walks of life.
