TORONTO (March 6, 2018) – Tonight the 2018 Canadian Screen Awards commenced with the Gala Honouring Excellence in Non-Fiction Programming, sponsored by Boat Rocker Media and Eagle Vision, at Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle. Hosted by Canadian Screen Award nominee and co-anchor of The Comedy Network’s The Beaverton, Miguel Rivas, everything non-fiction, from news shows to sports, documentaries and reality TV, creators, journalists and storytellers were spotlighted to highlight their winning achievements.

 

“What a great way to kick-off Canadian Screen Week, and the Canadian Screen Awards, with tonight’s award gala honouring excellence in Non-Fiction Programming,” said Beth Janson, CEO, Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television. “It’s important to recognize those who dedicate their lives to gathering news and information to keep Canadians informed about local and world events. A huge congratulations to all the winners!”
